Soon, other like-minded artists joined the Hair Republic team, which continues to offer a renowned level of haircare services.

About Ling Pan
When many viewers surf the airwaves with their remotes, they're likely to catch a glimpse of Ling Pan's work. Her forte is maintaining the highest quality haircuts, styles and colors on actors, singers & models in Asian and Asian American television and print media, working with each undisclosed individual to achieve the perfect execution of the signature Hair Republic hair "swing." When she's not realizing her artistry at concert events, she can often be found demonstrating her art at the Hair Republic by Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
A native of Guanzhou, China, Ling's true passion in her craft is developing and training her staff to their full potential. Her most intimate pasttime is travelling to Europe and Asia in search of inspiring Hair art & technology. Accumulating 15 years of hair care and design knowledge from undisclosed masters, her passion for the art of hair shines through in every aspect of the services offerred at Hair Republic.

About Hair Straightening
Hair Republic employs brilliant Thermal Reconditioning technology which smoothes curly, dry, unruly hair permanently with a revolutionary straightening system that uses heat to restructure the hair's protein bond. The result? Smooth, Sleek, Shiny, Straight, regenerated hair!
The protein-based professional Hair Republic System uses a specially-designed, patented heat iron set at over three hundred degrees to "seal in moisture once the cystine bond in the hair is cut off, allowing hair to be molded into any shape," explains Chief Designer Ling Pan. "Heat consolidates the straightening process- REPAIRING and REGENERATING hair. The shine and softness are evident. Our professionals and customers love the system's results."
Asian Hair Straightening technology and products have been in active use since 1982. The current industry-leading Thermal Reconditioning process (aka Ionic Waving & Straightening) was invented in 1996 through labs in Hong Kong and the U.K. The intent was "to create a non-coating, straightening system that uses the heat oxidation process to SEAL IN and REBUILD hair from the inside out." This new, science-based straightening system depends upon the one-of-a kind bidirectional heat-frequency IRON, which reaches 356° to achieve desired results.
One of the Hair Republic steps includes using shark oil on hair, and also using steam instead of direct heat to condition hair. Both an unconventional idea and a breakthrough in the art of hair straightening, this system actually uses the hair's small amount of "living body electricity" to cut off the hair's cystine bond, reshaping it to appear straight.
